Deep cut on toe
I fell down in the bathroom yesterday and the skin underneath the big toe opened up. I cut the skin and the wound is slightly deep and I can see redness. I went  to the nearest hospital and the doctor described one tt injection, pain killer and one antibiotic for five days. No ointment was prescribed. I am using nesporine ointment. Should I use any other ointment and should stitches be required ?

Without any visual inspection of your wound,it is difficult to comment. But Other than neosporin ointment there is nothing required. But whether stitches or dressing are required that can only be recommended after inspection of your wound.
Next Steps
May resend your wound photos.
Health Tips
May consult with a nearby general surgeon.

If the wound was examined at the hospital and treated with a tetanus injection and antibiotics, that is appropriate initial management. Neosporin ointment can be continued for local wound care; another ointment is usually not necessary.
Next Steps
Keep the wound clean and covered, avoid pressure on the toe, and monitor for increasing redness, swelling, pus, or severe pain. If the cut is deep, gaping, or not healing properly, a doctor should re-examine it to see if suturing or further treatment is required.

Sorry to hear about your toe injury. As much as the treatment given concerned, it will suffice. Further opinion about any extra treatment can be given if photos are provided. For the ointment, you can use mupirocin ointment over the injury. But make sure to keep the wound clean before applying ointment. Hope you feel better soon!
Health Tips
Keep the wound clean. Keep it away from dust and dirt. Clean it with water and soap regularly
