Dark purple nails after door injury
Hello My son’s middle and ring fingers got caught in a door about 5 days ago. Since then, both his fingernails have turned dark purple. There is mild swelling and pain when pressed, but no bleeding. He can move his fingers normally. Please advise if this still needs any treatment or if it will heal on its? Is there anything serious?

Keep the fingers clean and dry. Don't press them frequently to test pain etc. Nails will change in about 6-8 wks.
