For flaky and powdery dandruff use medicated shampoos containing Ketoconazole, Selenium Sulfide, or Salicylic Acid to target the root cause and exfoliate dead skin cells. Increase intake of Omega-3 fatty acids , Zinc, and Biotin-rich foods.
High stress can trigger flare-ups of seborrheic dermatitis, making powdery dandruff worse.
Avoid washing hair with very hot water, as it strips natural oils and causes the scalp to overproduce sebum
Next Steps
shampoo should be massaged into the scalp and left for 3 to 5 minutes before rinsin g to allow the active ingredients to work effectively.
Health Tips
Use the medicated shampoo 2 3 times per week and Once flakes are under control, reduce use to once a week or once every two weeks to prevent relapse.

Hi, being a doctor myself i have struggled with this a lot. The doctor prescribed ones would be cipla 8x shampoo or any shampoo with ketoconazole in it. However they all made hair dry . After trying out many shampoos I have finally settled on bare anatomys anti dandruff shampoo and its been good for my scalp and hair. You'll also have to experiment i guess as to what works for you.
