Dandruff and Hair Loss
I have immense dandruff , hairfall and grey hair . After having my first baby in April this year, all these problems have agrravated more . Tried all possible shampoos and oiling techniques but nothing really works. I want to consult a doctor but my baby girl just wouldn't stay without me. As my husband is based abroad I really can't go anywhere too without a help and m new to Chennai. Pls help. Dandruff has been a problem since long . Due to this I have acne issues too and face is pigmented. Scalp is itchy and I can feel tough flakes of dandruff.

There are many reasons for hair fall. So first and foremost we have to find the cause with the help of detailed history and examination. Some of the common causes are nutritional deficiency, hormonal causes like androgenic alopecia or patterned baldness, hypothyroidism, telogen effluvium etc. Unless we find and treat the cause there is no point in giving non specific treatment. Oils or shampoos do not have any effect on hair growth as they are not absorbed in the skin.
