Cut on upper lip
My son fell down and hurt his upper lip. There was bleeding and we applied cold compress and took him to the emergency. The doctor cleaned it and put small tape. Do I need to give any medication. Also I am worried whether it will leave scar. I am attaching photos. Kindly provide suggestions.

Lip lacerations usually heal well because of the rich vascular supply, and superficial wounds without gaping or vermilion border involvement can often be managed conservatively with proper cleaning, dressing, and tissue adhesive (glue). However, in the present case, the laceration involves the vermilion border, a cosmetically critical area where even minimal misalignment can lead to noticeable deformity. Therefore, primary repair by a plastic surgeon is preferred to ensure precise alignment and optimal cosmetic outcome.
