Ct paranasal sinuses
My husband keep spitting mucus for months I was concerned because he kept clearing his throat and kept spitting we decided to show ent doctor he asked us to take scan of CT PNS after scan he said my husband as one side of nasal septum is deviated and it's swollen due to that he is having post nasal drip and he keeps clearing throat and spitting mucus . Doctor has given three months medicine course to normal swollen side and then suggested that to operate on nose . Is it really necessary to operate ?

Septum is deviated to left with b/l inferior turbinate hypertrophy , his sinuses are clear , if patient is having severe nasal obstruction , headache , nasal bleeding then would advise surgery ... repeated clearing of throat and post nasal discharge could be because of allergy ... if excessive sneeze watery nasal discharge watery eyes present then would advice to take nasal spray for three months
