Cow milk for 6mths baby
Is it safe to give cow milk to my 6mths baby? My parents are recommending to give cow milk to my baby boy. He does pass motion twice in a week. I think digestion is normal. I daily give him Mughli ghutti. But i need to stop breastfeeding to start his top feed.

It seems that you have sufficient amount of milk, then, why do you want to add cow's milk? Adding cow's milk will lead to many problems. No dairy milk should be given till 1year of age. It promotes iron deficit, constipation and disinterest in solid food.
Next Steps
reduce breast feeding to  4hourly and introduce cerelac gradually. At 8months reduce to 8hourly and at10-12months only twice a day. no child should take breast feeding at night after 6months.
Health Tips
increase cerelac in quantity gradually. after 15-20 days child will eat cereals in good amount then you can introduce home made food gradually

Better than cow milk will be regular toned milk undiluted. You don't need to stop breastfeed, it can be continued till 1 years age.
Health Tips

Hi.. better avoid cows milk till 1 years of age.. reasons. 1. It has higher protein content...than mothers milk which baby cant digest 2. High chances if cows milk protein allergy 3. Nowadays dairy animals are recieving so many injections to increase milk production... we really have no idea about it..... 4. Start weaning baby on solid food rather than cows milk 5. Incase you need milk dont use more than 750 ml after 9 months. As already your baby have motions 2times only in a week so cow's milk may cause constipation. Breast feeding can be continued till 2years but decrease gradually and start home made semisolid food items.

Hi.According to American academy of paediatrics giving cows milk below 1 year of age is not recommended. The main reason being is high protein content which is nearly 6.6 gm in cows milk and 2.2 gm in humans milk.Hence babies have difficulty in digestion and it is not recommended. You can start multiple other complementary foods at 6 months of age like rice kanji, khichadi, apple purée etc,so babies milk requirement will automatically go down.At this age baby doesn’t require more than 500 ml of milk!!

FIRSTLY.. Don't stop breastfeeding directly....continue breastfeeding till 2 yrs of age... You have to add top feed to your child not to discontinue breastfeeding... Don't give mughli ghutti.... Cow's milk is not advice at any age..no need of outside milk to baby... Start giving home made food.. Like rice kanji...Rice moongdal khichdi... Banana.. Egg yolk to your child...
Next Steps
Monitor weight every monthly...

Dear parents, Avoid cow milk upto 12months of age. According to me after 6month completed stop milk from 8amto8pm and give semisolid diet like Dal,dalia, khicdi alu kela rice, apple, upama, halwa, patolia, rab, kadi idle poha satu custard etc and from 80pmto8am give mother milk is preferable. To start with stop milk for 4hrs for 15days and give semisolid diet next 15days stop milk for 8hrs and give semisolid diet lastly stop milk from 8amto8pm and give semisolid diet . For your knowledge 100ml milk gives 70calories of energy 100ml juices give 55calories of energy and 100gm of semisolid diet gives 350calories of energy. So continue mother's milk upto 2 years of age only at 8pm to 8am.
