Please consult a General Physician in your area for a physical examination. Three weeks is too long a time to ignore cough and other respiratory symptoms.

A cough lasting for 3 weeks with phlegm needs a systematic evaluation. While it could be a simple post-viral bronchitis or an allergy, any cough exceeding 2 weeks requires us to rule out more serious infections like Tuberculosis (TB) or chronic sinusitis. Since the cough triggers with deep breaths, there might be some bronchial hyper-responsiveness. I need to know the color of the phlegm and if you have any history of smoking or asthma to suggest the right course of treatment."
Next Steps
Steam inhalation twice a day can help loosen the phlegm and soothe the throat. Avoid cold drinks and oily food for a few days. For a proper prescription and to discuss if you really need the TB tests right away, please feel free to connect for a consultation."
Health Tips
Do not start any random 'one-week course of antibiotics' without a proper diagnosis, as it can lead to antibiotic resistance and won't help if the cause is viral or allergic. If you notice any blood in the sputum or chest pain, seek immediate medical advice."

Cough for 3 weeks with phlegm is usually due to throat irritation or mild airway inflammation, but since it’s persisting, it’s better to get it evaluated once. For now, you can take steam inhalation, warm fluids, and a mild anti-allergic (like levocetirizine) with cough syrup for relief. If it doesn’t improve in a few days, a proper check-up will help identify the exact cause and give targeted treatment. Kindly take appointment if u have other doubt
