Around 5 months ago I fell 24ft off a roof resulting in bad concussion and severe impact to my hip & shoulder (no fracture) since then I have persistent on and off hip pain but I manage yet when wearing a variety of different shoes or boots this pain comes more frequently and stays a persistent pulsing ache. Is this common, will this fade in time, and is there a obvious solution?

You have fallen from a significant height to have injured something. If the pain hasn't settled in the last 5.months, then it is time to see a specialist. You will have to be assessed by an Orthopaedic Surgeon and you will need a scan as per the clinical findings. This will tell the doctor if there is something that needs treatment.
