Your mother may be suffering from mild depression n self esteem issues. This often comes about from years of habitual negative thinking. These negative automatic thoughts are very repetitive. Get her to share with you some of the more dominant negative thoughts, and push her then to discover or explore possible alternatives to each of those repetitive thoughts. Also try to divert her attention to doing things Part of the problem may be she spends too much time thinking Also try n get her to start doing some exercise like brisk walking.
