I am taking booster doses after exposure to a cat. I received a 0.5 mL( abhyrab) dose on day 0. On day 3, I couldn't get the same vaccine brand, so I received a different brand was Rabivax-S 1 mL. Both are Vero cell rabies vaccines.
Is it safe to take them this way?harm ful for immunity??

Yes, this is completely safe. Both Abhyrab and Rabivax-S are purified Vero cell rabies vaccines and are considered interchangeable â WHO and Indian guidelines confirm that different brands of the same type of rabies vaccine can be used in the same course without any reduction in effectiveness or safety. Your immunity will not be affected. The key is maintaining the correct schedule (Day 0, 3, 7, 14 etc.) rather than using the same brand throughout.
Next Steps
Continue your remaining booster doses on schedule. Feel free to consult me directly on Practo if you have further questions about your rabies PEP course.

you received a 0.5 mL dose of Abhayarab on Day 0 and a 1 mL dose of Rabivax-S on Day 3 after an exposure to a cat. Please do not worry; switching vaccine brands mid-course when the original brand is unavailable is completely safe and well-documented in medical guidelines.
Next Steps
Both Abhayarab and Rabivax-S are purified Vero cell rabies vaccines (PVRV). Because they are manufactured using the same scientific core technology and contain the identical inactivated (killed) rabies virus antigen, your immune system recognizes them exactly the same way,
