How old is the injury?
Symtomatic Complete ACL tear needs surgery - reconstruction with a graft like hamstring or ptb.
Better done nowadays arthroscopically...Less scar, and you can weight bear from day 1.
Associated meniscus tear also needs to be addressed, depending upon the degree of tear on MRI films.
