Dear Patient, Colic is common in infants around 2 to 4 months of age and is usually due to immature gut function and gas formation. It typically presents with episodes of crying abdominal discomfort and leg flexion. This condition is self limiting and improves as the baby grows. Colic aid drops can be given when symptoms occur and are generally safe in recommended dosage. Using once daily for symptomatic relief is acceptable for a short period. Continuous long term use should be avoided unless advised by a doctor. Advice Ensure proper burping after every feed Feed in semi upright position Gentle abdominal massage and leg cycling may help relieve gas Check proper breastfeeding latch consult me if Persistent excessive crying poor feeding vomiting fever or poor weight gain Abdominal distension or blood in stool Most infants improve gradually by 4 to 5 months of age. For further guidance and personalized treatment you may consult me online anytime.
