This is a case of recurrent Anal Fissure with a sentinel tag.
Next Steps
Focus should be on preventing recurrence, not surgery: • Stool regulation (MOST IMPORTANT): – High-fiber diet – Stool softener if needed (e.g., lactulose/isabgol) • Local treatment during episodes: – Sitz bath (warm water) – Apply fissure ointment (like diltiazem/nitroglycerin if prescribed) • Hydration: – 2.5–3 liters/day
Health Tips
• Avoid straining during passing stool • Do not delay urge for motion • Regular bowel habit (same time daily) • Avoid very spicy/junk food if it worsens symptoms • Sentinel tag itself is harmless and doesn’t require removal unless very bothersome ⸻
