Hi I recently got chikungunya .. post that had severe wrist and ankle joint pain making even walking and holding a phone very difficult .. I didn't want to take prednisone prescribed by physician.. had a consultation with Ayurvedic doctor instead.. dr suggested dhanya Mala Dhara and podikhizi for a total of 5 days. You have just had a condition in which the body has suffered sever inflammation. In order to get rid of this inflammation, proper anti-inflammatory protocols needs to be adhered to. The first step would be to remove Inflammatory foods, and introduce foods that have anti inflammatory properties. For that you can follow HAIP DIET which is based on the anti-inflammatory principles of Ayurveda.
Secondly, take proper advise from a well known panchkarma Specialist that will help in removing the toxins generated by the infection.
Use anti inflammatory and calming herbs like giloy satva, yashtimadhu (to be taken under guidance), shatavari etc. .
