when peeling is done for tanning it just decreasing the current hyperpigmentation . IT will by no means offer protection against future possibility of tanning... after getting the improvement you need to use sunscreen routinely to prevent recurrence. Also the the type of sunscreen will depend on your skin type - whether to use cream or lotion or gel based. also if there is pigmentation there are sunscreen with hypo pigmenting agents also available. without examination I cannot advice accurately. You should send me images through private online consult for a better assessment of the problem and approaching it accordingly. Hope this is helpful.
