You are 41 years old, in perimenopausal state. You should consult a Gynaecologist in your area for a physical examination and detailed evaluation as far as the approaching menopause is concerned. Please don't carried away thinking that 41 years is hardly an age for menopause.

Get tests like thyroid profile, cbc and consult a gynaecologist. If u have any changes like weight gain, try to reduce your weight and have a healthy diet and sleep cycle which can certainly help to modify your menstrual cycles.

Hi, At age 41, irregular periods, spotting or lighter bleeding are quite common because this age falls in the perimenopause phase (time before menopause). Hormonal fluctuations are the most frequent reason, but thyroid issues, stress, weight changes, or uterine problems (like fibroid, polyp, endometrial thickening) can also cause it. Medicines usually given are hormonal tablets (progesterone or combined pills), sometimes iron if anemia develops. But exact medicine depends on ultrasound and blood test results, so self-start is not advised. Next steps: Get hemoglobin, thyroid profile, pelvic ultrasound. Track your bleeding pattern (dates, flow). Consult a gynecologist for proper prescription. Most of the time it’s not serious at this age, but regular check-up is important to rule out other causes. I hope it help you

Spotting/irregular periods are common but need proper evaluation . It can happen due to many causes like hormonal imbalance, stress, thyroid issues, PCOS, low hemoglobin, or uterine causes . The correct treatment depends on finding the cause.
Next Steps
I recommend you get a thyroid profile, hemoglobin test, and ultrasound pelvis to know the reason. Once we have the reports, I can prescribe you the right medicine to stop the spotting and regulate your periods. You can book a consultation with me here on Practo so that I can guide you step-by-step with a personalized treatment.
Health Tips
Please don’t start any medicine without evaluation because the same medicine may help one woman but can worsen bleeding in another.
