I have cervical spine bulge at C4, C5, C6.
C4 being the most significant one.
Ive seen a spine doc and following conservative treatment since 3 days. Attached my MRI also.
Till now i did not notice any major improvement. I kinda demotivated. I dont have lot of pain so no medicine but i have discomfort. I want to know can this be healed with conservative treatment what are the success rate and generally how much time it will take. I got this injury may be during workout becoz i do workout regularly. This is keeping me away from gym also. Im doing elliptical machine light cardio and conservative PT suggested by my doc.

Hello good afternoon.
I can totally understand your queries
Looking at your explanation of symptoms and the MRI shared- looks like you do have a problem which cannot be neglected.
Cervical IVDP is something which does not go away in a few days with a little medications..
it takes time, you have been taking medications only since 3days.. you have to wait.
Considering your age 32years, it’s better to start treatment stepwise.. it would not be wise to jump to surgery at the first go..
so we have to give a trial of conservative management. Minimum for 3-6months.. even then if your symptoms have not reduced, it’s getting worse, pain radiating to your hand, weakness is coming- this is when you have to get worried( these are the danger signs)
Now answering your questions
1) it cannot be healed from conservative management- it’s about strengthening your neck muscles, reducing your pain and preventing it from getting even more worse.. we need to push the surgery as many years forward as possible ( but keep in mind the danger signs which has been told above)
2) it’s always 50-50.. depends on how well you do physiotherapy and life style modifications you do
3) it takes minimum of 6weeks with all the advice and precautions followed
4)take complete bed rest for 15days until the pain subsides ( rest means lying down on the bed and not sitting and watching TV)
5) avoid weight lifting, forward bending, 2wheeler travel.. sleep on a flat pillow 2inches, firm and flat, posture correction should be done( computer should be at eye sight, phone while sleeping)
Proper physiotheray
6)follow normal diet and preferably high protein diet
