All white colour restorations are not composite. GIC is also white in colour. Although temporary restoration is also white in colour. Curing light is mandatory in composite restoration but not in GIC restoration
Next Steps
Ask your Dentist, what kind of filling he has done.

Not all white color restorating material are  composite, some Restoration such as GIC are also white in colour which don't require curing rather they are mixed and placed directly on tooth, refer your dentist for confirmation about type of cement used, also there are some self curing composite not requiring curing, moreover if some particles are coming out of your restoration then it might be GIC restoration
Next Steps
refer your dentist for confirmation about the types of material used

If it’s a composite filling then blue light is required to set the cement..if it’s a GIC filling then it will set by itself..you need to cross check with your doctor sir, which type of filling is it!
