Can an oral surgeon or MDS detect oral cancer by examining a lump in mouth or by just touching it or taking xray or apu opg are they trained to detect cancer or only an oral oncologist detect it and diagnose it

Both can do their job well but diagnostics tools like scans and biopsy and blood investigations are a must. If doctors could just tell all the diseases by just looking at it then so many diagnostic tools research won't have happened since years.
