IBS is a functional gastrointestinal disorder and symptoms can fluctuate over time. Stress and anxiety can worsen symptoms in some individuals. Neurotherapy does not have strong scientific evidence to cure IBS, although stress-reduction techniques and psychological therapies may help improve symptoms in some patients. Acidity can sometimes cause chest discomfort, but persistent chest pain and back pain should not be ignored and may need proper evaluation to rule out other causes.
Next Steps
IBS is usually managed with dietary changes, lifestyle modification, stress management, and medications depending on the symptom pattern. Persistent or worsening symptoms should be evaluated properly to rule out other conditions. Please consult a gastroenterologist for individualized treatment.
Health Tips
Maintain regular meal timings, adequate sleep, hydration, and avoid trigger foods such as excess spicy food, caffeine, and alcohol.
