Can did bulge L5S1 cause legpain alone?
I'm facing leg pain in both legs from thigh to ankle when I walk more than a kilometre or stand for some 20 -30mins for the past 6-7 months. I'm getting heaviness in my both legs as a result. After sitting down and pressing my legs the pain, heaviness subsides to a extent. I had disc bulge at L5S1 in 2019 June and got relieved after 3 months of treatment and started with back and core strengthening exercises. I visited one physio and he told it's due to tight hamstring as a result of doing back and core strengthening exercises. He taught hamstring stretches but no result. Hence visited another physiotherapist and he told it's due to disc bulge. I'm confused now!. I don't have any back pain now but getting this leg pain alone. Can disc bulge cause leg pain alone? Without back pain?.pls voice ur suggestions. I also fear that I might have blood flow issue in legs..I cannot see any redness, swelling in legs.. ur suggestions pls.

Hi, thanks for reaching out. Yes you can suffer pain legs due to disc bulge without any back pain. I would suggest you to check the type of pain you suffer, is it stretch like or sharp shooting or pain of tiredness or soreness ? As nerve pains are mostly sharp shooting or stretch like. Heaviness in legs do suggest pain due to lower back issue. You need stretching exercises in legs as well as proper lower back treatment and strengthening.
Next Steps
avoid forward bending , lifting weights and prolong standing.
Health Tips
lie down with pillow placed under knees. lie down on your back, keep 3-4 pillows under legs to raise them and then do ankle movements, this help in proper blood circulation. if this exercise aggravates pain then stop it.

There are possibilities of getting leg pain without back pain in disc bulge cases. But your problem could be due to hamstring tightness after standing or walking for 20-30 min. Are you still continuing your core and back strengthening exercises? Which part of your leg you get pain? Front or back or on sides? How long you did you hamstring stretch?
