A pot of hot tea fell on my right foot and it burnt. This looks drying. I feel a tightness on that area. I'm cleaning the wound with saline water and applying mega heal twice. Please advise if there's anything else I need to do. Do I have to peel the skin? Or it will be an automatic process?

Hi! 😊
Your burn is healing well.
It will peel naturally on its own, no need to force it. Just continue gentle care.

This burn injury is healing! Good job in following and doing the right things. Continue to keep it clean, applying the ointment, wearing loose trousers to avoid regular contact.
Do Nothing else. Nature is strong but it takes time. You can even experience a bit of itching on the dried parts. it's normal.
You can also apply coconut oil at the edges at night. May be taken an Allegra 120 once a day for itching if needed. You don't have to take it.
The burn looks like it's healing well â please do not peel the skin. It will shed off on its own naturally, and forcing it can cause infection and worsen scarring. The tightness you feel is completely normal as the wound dries and heals. Continue cleaning gently with saline and applying Mega Heal twice a day. Keep it covered with a clean dressing. Watch for any signs of infection â increasing redness, warmth, swelling, pus, or fever. If any of these appear, please see a doctor in person.

Hi!
Most important thing in burns is to avoid infection. A very thin layer of soframycin or mupirocin ointment can be applied after washing it throughly with water at least twice daily. Silver dressings like mega heal which you are using also work fine.
Next Steps
Don’t peel the skin it would increase risk of infection.
Health Tips
Don’t forget to do some stretching of the region so that contractures don’t develop. Sometimes fibrosis(thick skin) can form and lead to restriction of joint mobility. Feel free to consult.
