In 2018, my wisdom tooth was removed. Since it was extracted, I have been experiencing a burning sensation in that area once or twice a year, lasting for about 3–4 days each time.
After some time, a small bump started developing there, and gradually it became as big as the one I showed in the image. Now, sometimes my upper tooth touches it and sometimes it doesn’t. There is occasionally very minor pain, but the burning sensation remains constant.
For the past one week, I have been using Tan-X on it, but it only gives relief for a short time.

Since your wisdom tooth was removed in 2018 and you are still getting recurrent burning sensation with a small bump in that area, it should be properly evaluated.
Possible causes may include:
• Scar tissue irritation
• Residual infection
• Bony irregularity
• Soft tissue growth due to repeated trauma from the opposite tooth
Because the burning sensation keeps coming back and a visible bump has formed, this should not be ignored. Temporary gels may give short relief but will not solve the root cause.
I recommend a clinical examination and an X-ray of that area to rule out any underlying infection or bone issue. Treatment will depend on the diagnosis.
Please consult an oral surgeon or dentist for proper evaluation.

Upper teeth have a tendency to shift downwards if lowet alternate teeth is not present. So this could be due to high/sharp cuspal region of upper teeth impinging onto the lower mucosa. The burning sensation is neuropathic mostly. Still you need to get properly evaluated by a OMFS for butning sensation. If that is cleared then smoothing the upper teeth cusps can help
Hi ,
As it looks there might be some nerve damage or nerve irritation. Which is causing this burning sensation etc. Better u get checked with a dentist so. That we can go deeper into the issue and solve it. If there is any irritation because of the upper teeth like sharp cusp etc. We need to check that as well.
Haii, The persistent bump at the wisdom tooth extraction site (from 2018), along with recurrent burning sensation (likely neuropathic), is most commonly due to nerve irritation or damage (paresthesia) from the procedure or trauma from opposing upper tooth contact.
Next Steps
consult an oral and maxillofacial surgeon (or an experienced endodontist) for a thorough clinical examination, as this has persisted for years.
Health Tips
If trauma from upper tooth contact is confirmed, selective occlusal adjustment or crown reshaping on the upper tooth. Is advised
