Branded medicine vs Jan Aushadhi kendra
Hi doctor, I have been taking Olmezest 20 mg, Inderal 20 mg and Serta 25 These are for High BP and Anxiety/ Panic disorder. My question: Is it safe to take medicine from Jan Aushadhi kendra as they offer exact same composition as the branded ones ? Jan Aushadhi kendra medicines are 90% cheaper than other branded ones so confused

For most common conditions (like hypertension, diabetes, infections), generics are fine and cost-effective. Branded drugs are preferable for NTI drugs( Narrow therapeutic index drugs -Some medicines have a very small “safe range” between the dose that helps you and the dose that can harm you), modified-release formulations, or critical-dose medications. Examples being blood thinners and anti epileptic drugs. The drugs that you are prescribed can be taken from a generic store. No issues.
