Brain Damage from Boiling Water?
This happened 16 years ago but I wanted to ask a doctor who may be knowledgeable on the subject. When my friend was a baby (18 months old) boiling water accidentally spilled all over his body (leaving him with severe scars to this day). I was wondering if this accident could have delayed his mental abilities? He went to private school but was then homeschooled 7 yrs after being held back a year. He’s a great guy but just seems a little off socially. Just wanted to know more! Thanks for the help!

A more descriptive account of his symptoms would be helpful to come to any conclusion. A traumatic event like this has a role in the development of personality later( much more if there has been a damage caused to the brain in form haemorrhage etc).
