TAZloc-25 (metoprolol) can cause sleep disturbance/insomnia in some people, especially in the first 1–2 weeks. This happens because: • It reduces heart rate and alters adrenaline activity • It can interfere with melatonin release • Anxiety + new BP medication together can worsen sleep initially The fact that your overall health is otherwise fine and this started after starting Tazloc strongly suggests a medication-related side effect, not a dangerous problem. This is uncomfortable but not dangerous.
Next Steps
1. Change timing of the dose • Take TAZloc-25 in the MORNING after breakfast • Avoid taking it in the evening or night (very important) 2. Give it a short adjustment period • Most people adjust within 10–14 days • If insomnia continues beyond this → dose adjustment or drug change is needed 3. Do NOT stop suddenly • Abrupt stopping can cause BP spikes and palpitations 4. If sleep is severely affected • Your doctor may: • Reduce dose • Switch to another BP medicine (e.g., ARB like telmisartan alone) • Add a short-term sleep aid if needed
Health Tips
✔ Avoid tea/coffee after 4–5 PM ✔ No mobile screen 1 hour before sleep ✔ Light dinner, avoid heavy meals late night ✔ Slow breathing (4-7-8 breathing) before bed ✔ Walk in sunlight during the day (helps sleep hormone reset) ✔ Do NOT check BP repeatedly at night (worsens anxiety & insomnia) This does not mean Tazloc is harming you. It simply means your body is sensitive to beta-blockers, which is very common. If you want, I can: • Review your BP pattern • Decide if Tazloc is truly needed • Suggest the best alternative with zero sleep disturbance • Guide safe tapering if required

What is your bp range??, because you started taking antihypertensive drug to control it so its take time to settled down your bp. In few days when your bp fall down to deranged your symptoms and sleeping will be better.so don't stop medicine.

Pls specify your age . Try to do 30-45 minutes of exercise everyday and meditation for the anxiety. Continue for 10 days. If it still doesn't work, then we can look at medications for sleeping.
Health Tips
Make a proper time table for the day. Have early meals and try to do some walking before sleep time
