Boyfriend with genital warts

My boyfriend recently found out he has genital warts. Not having sex isn't a problem right now, but if we're working toward marriage will it be a problem when we have kids? Will it be detrimental to me? I did get the Gardisil vaccine but I'm unsure how long that lasts.
