I am a woman and I gain fat in my abdomen area and lower body so that makes me a lot conscious as my body is disproportionate in size . I do exercise but thoughts come in my mind that tell me that my body is imperfect.
Do I suffer from BDD ? What should I do ?
I want to accept my body the way it is but I am struggling to do so and also there is no other option.

Hi, I am sorry you are feeling this way. I am sure this is tough for you. I understand your struggle since society has set standards on what the most perfect body is. The truth is that there are no perfect bodies. They are just bodies. However, we all have the right to decide how we’d like to look. However, sometimes we aren’t able to achieve a certain goal in a certain time frame and that hurts us in various ways. To work on this we can sit in there and create a safe space to process the emotions around grief and other feeling of failures you have in your life. Once that is handled you will feel more confident and probably look for other ways to achieve your body goals. You rock!

Hi... Please consult a Psychiatrist for a medical diagnosis. Self diagnosing yourself reading symptoms online will only enhance your problems.
Treatment of BDD consists of CBT and Antidepressants (SSRI's). You will need to undergo a proper psychiatric assessment, followed by prescription of medication. CBT will be conducted by a Psychologist. It may take sometime but you will recover from this condition.
This may also be just a body-image issue caused by some psychosocial factors. In that case, medications may not be required. Only CBT/Psychotherapy/Counselling will work well.
Next Steps
Consult a Psychologist.
CBT along with Lifestyle Changes and Interpersonal Guidance and Counselling is required.
