My grandfather went to urologist and there upon testing sugar it was 507 . He referred him to diabetes doctor the doctor asked for urgent hospitalization for insulin therapy . Is hospitalization required?he currently has no other problem

He need to be started on insulin therapy.. Depending on his clinical conditions especially urine ketones admission will be decided.. If completely stable then can be started on subcutaneous insulin with regular monitoring of sugars.
