Blood pressure
I was diagnosed with anxiety 8 month back. my blood pressure readings was normal at that time . now my blood pressure reading showing always high like 135/85 average reading. i want to ask can we develop blood pressure in this short span of time like in 6 month because my readings are coming high for last 6 month only... is it possible that at my age blood pressure can be such high if all other thing are normal like kidney function , thyroid, ecg, echo... is it temporary or it can develop permanently..

Hi. Your blood pressure readings seem to be in prehypertensive range. Stress and anxiety can cause blood pressure to go up. In a young person if high blood pressure is detected for the first time then further evaluatiin is done to rule out secondary causes of Hypertension, commonly kidney related causes and so on. In such cases previously normotensive person can develop high BP. However a single reading doesn't label a person hypertensive. You need repeated home readings measured properly at rest over a period of 1-2 weeks.
