Blood in sputum

Asked for Male, 27 Years

My mother gets blood in her sputum almost a coin size everytime when she spits. We had done endoscopy too & the reports are also normal. Wat could be the possible reason? Pls suggest treatment accordingly. Thanks!!

Hi Blood in sputum can be due to various reasons,it can be due to bleeding gums,tb,some nasal pathology causing the blood to trickle down throat,tb or any lower respiratory tract infection etc. For this I would recommend you to take an opinion of an ent specialist and pulmonologist. Regards
