Blood culture will be positive only if the causative organism spills in bloodstream , as long it is localised to ears , blood culture is supposed to be negative . Above mentioned history is insufficient to arrive at a definitive answer .Would like to know a few more details in history & a few other investigations like X Ray if your ear , Procalcitonin , etc are needed for proper assessment , before providing an appropriate opinion & further plan of action . Please consult on Practo for the same as per your convenience.
Blood culture only turns positive when there is blood stream infection . Local infection like ear in your case will not yield positive blood culture , for further evaluation and treatment plz consult
