Blockage in Heart
My Grandmother has a history of heart blockage and Angioplasty was done in 2018. She is on medication since then. As per her latest 2D Echo reports she has blockage again and needs to get her Angiography done as soon as possible to check the same. Our family doctor suggested to consult Ayurvedic doctor. Is it risky to go with Ayurvedic procedure as she might need Angioplasty as per cardiologist. And will the Ayurvedic procedure help to treat blockage ?

I’ll give you a **clear, honest, medically safe** answer because this involves your grandmother’s heart, and wrong guidance can be dangerous. --- # ❤️ **Short Answer (Very Important)** ### **If cardiologist says angiography is needed, you SHOULD NOT delay it for Ayurvedic treatment.** Ayurveda cannot replace: * **Coronary angiography (test)** * **Angioplasty or stent placement if the artery is critically blocked** Delaying these can be **life-threatening**. Ayurveda can **support**, but it **cannot open a severe or unstable heart blockage**. --- # 🔍 **Why Angiography Is Critical** Angiography is **not a surgery** — it is a test to see: * How many arteries are blocked * How severe the block is * Whether the stent placed in 2018 is narrowing again * Whether emergency treatment is needed If block is **>70% OR causing symptoms**, angioplasty is needed immediately. ### ❗At her age and with past angioplasty, **you should NOT postpone angiography**. --- # 📌 Should you try Ayurveda instead of angiography? ### **No, not at this stage.** Ayurvedic doctors themselves NEVER recommend skipping or delaying angiography when: * Patient has previous stent * There is suspected re-block * Echo suggests new wall motion abnormality * Patient is elderly Ayurveda can **maintain heart health after the cardiologist stabilizes her**, but not replace urgent evaluation. --- # ⭐ What Ayurveda *can* help with (after the angiography decision is clear) Ayurveda helps in: * Improving long-term heart function * Reducing cholesterol * Improving circulation * Reducing inflammation * Preventing oxidation of LDL * Strengthening overall cardiac health Ayurvedic therapies like: * **Arjunarishta** * **Pushkarmool** * **Hridayarnava rasa** * **Punarnava** * **Guggulu-based formulations** …can help in **mild to moderate** plaque stabilization **after cardiology approves them**. But **these CANNOT open a severe or calcified blockage**. --- # ❗When Ayurveda Alone Can Help (Safe Cases) Ayurveda can be used **as the MAIN treatment only when:** * Blockage is **

Any acute condition needs to be addressed by a cardiologist.  Please keep that in mind. There are no ayurvedic procedures for removing blockages surgically. Only panchakarma and medicines are given that can take time to show their effects.

Sorry but at this stage of angioplasty ayurvedic medicines cant alone help her. You can still start giving her Arjunarishta-5ml thrice and pushkarmooladi churna with guggulu twice a day for 7 days. And please follow the advice given by the cardiologist.

In this case, the safest plan is: 1. First, get the angiography done and follow the cardiologist’s advice for any urgent treatment (angioplasty if needed). 2. Once her condition is stable, Ayurvedic medicines can be started as a supportive care—to strengthen the heart, manage cholesterol, improve digestion, and prevent future issues. In short:

At such a high age, any internal therapy cannot be given but local therapies along with some medicines can work for blockage. Need to consult a nearby ayurvedic doctor for detailed examination and consultation
