Hello, Recurrent nosebleeds at this age are most commonly due to uncontrolled blood pressure or fragile nasal vessels. A platelet count of 12 lakh is unlikely to cause bleeding, as high platelets usually increase clotting; however, at very high levels they can rarely be dysfunctional, so coagulation disorders should still be evaluated and ruled out by an MD Medicine physician. Recommended evaluation: BP monitoring, CBC, PT/INR, aPTT + ENT nasal examination (diagnostic nasal endoscopy) to identify the bleeding point. First aid: pinch the soft part of the nose for 10–15 minutes and lean forward (do not lie down). If episodes recur, consult an ENT specialist for simple procedures like cauterization and ensure strict BP control.
