Black spot under toenail

Asked for Female, 23 Years

I wiped off my toenail polish one day and found a black spot under my big toe. I googled it (which I know I shouldn't be doing...) and found some pretty scary stuff about skin cancer. I'm also a dancer in partner dances so I often get stepped on and am wondering if that could be dried blood under my toenail instead. If there's anyway I can attach a photo later in this process, I would!
