Bilurubin levels
My mom age 48 diabetic had a normal lab checkup in may  was mild anemic 11.1 and increase in bilurubin levels 1.78 direct0.4 indirect 1.04ggt 59.2 so again in October we repeated so it was almost same total bilurubin 1.57 direct0.8 ggt 58 all normal so wt can be the cause she is on statins and thyroxine, glimipride she doesn't have like yellow eyes usg shows grade 1fatty liver mild splenomegaly wt can be the cause can pls guide doc

Hi.. Liver functions are suggestive of predominantly indirect increased bilirubin. Jaundice (yellow discolouration of eyes) usually develops when Bilirubin is more than 3. It is important to get a Fibroscan done in patients with Fatty liver disease to rule out underlying liver fibrosis. If Fibroscan is normal, the increased indirect bilirubin shouldn’t be a cause of concern
