Big toe thumb pain - tingling
I am having pain in my big toe (thumb). There is no visible pus, but the area around the nail and cuticle is painful on pressing. It also feels warm and slightly swollen, with a tingling type of pain. Walking is uncomfortable.
I have tried icing and warm salt water soaks, which give temporary relief, but the pain comes back. Since I have to travel daily by local trains for work, it is becoming difficult to manage.
This started recently, possibly due to footwear friction. There is no discharge as of now.
Could you please guide if this is early infection or inflammation and what treatment I should follow?
