Cow milk and buffalo milk are not recommended below 1 year of age. The reasons are it does not have the correct nutrients, is difficult to digest and there is risk of intestinal bleeding and also there is risk of dehydration due to high solute load leading to pressure on the kidneys. The baby is not mature enough to handle it. Best is to start home cooked semi solid and solid foods.
It is better to avoid animal milk during infancy as it contains more amount of proteins which are of different kind and difficult to digest and risk of allergy.
As the baby completed 6 months you can start giving complementary feeds too along with milk to match the calorie requirements.
