Babies by the end of newborn period adapt something called as cluster feeding.
In cluster feeding, they continuously feed with a gap of 30min to 45 min with short naps in between and then after 5-6 hours of cluster feeding tend to sleep for longer hours of 3-4 in a stretch
Usually cluster feeding starts in early afternoon to late evening, continues into night
You can smartly make use of cluster feeding and sleep train your baby slowly to sleep between 12 to 4 or 5 at night as they turn 3 or 4 months
It’s a slow process but it will happen
So trust your baby and your body. As your baby has crossed newborn period, you can safely Allow for feeds whenever the baby wants and allow the baby to sleep in a stretch of 3-4 hours once cluster feeding is done
Kindly consult if needed further details
Falling asleep while feeding is normal behaviour seen in new borns. You should keep the baby awake while feeding. Feed the baby for minimum of 20-30 min on one side of the breast, don’t change inbetween feeding.
