Can someone advise if this drug causes weight loss or weight gain? I am getting opposite views from a dietician and a psychiatrist - please help. I am looking for an antidepressant that does not cause weight gain ( in fact weight loss is desirable ) and also defeats lethargy and listlessness -

Arip MT 10 is a antipsychotic. It usually do not increase weight which makes it different from other antipsychotics which increases weight. Weight gain or loss are not action of these drugs. Arip is a activating drug and it does help in fighting lethargy. Discuss with your practitioner the reason behind adding arip. There are number of antidepressants available which do not increase weight. Though everything which affects body will have side effects, but these side effects are manageable. Do not stop medication until told to. You can consult for further help required.

Try homeopathy that will be more helpful. For weight loss I think exercise regularly that helps with depression as well.
