Recently I went to a clinic for a fungal skin ailment and the doctor explained me the problem and started selling me medicines what he prescribed then and there for the next 21 days. The consultation fees was Rs. 300 but ended up asking Rs. 8490. This included fluconazole 200mg tablets (60 tablets, 18 each, total Rs. 1080), health supplements "Testostone" (2 on each day costing Rs 800 for 10 tablets, total Rs. 4000), Sulphur homeopathic cream ( Rs. 60), some unnamed shampoo 5 bottles ( costing Rs. 185 each, total Rs. 925), some unnamed oil 5 bottles (costing Rs. 185 each, total Rs. 925), small self stapled packets of a cream which to be mixed with Sulphur cream (20 packets, Rs. 60 each, total Rs. 1200).
Now my first question is, is a doctor allowed to sell medicines at the clinic?
Secondly is he allowed to sell any cream, oil or shampoo which is unnamed (that means no clearance from any regulatory body)?
Pls suggest!
