Anxiety disorder n fear of flying
I've got anxiety disorder from as long as I can remember. There are times when it's too high n times when it disappears. But I've learnt how to handle some of the symptoms. I practice yoga regularly, breathing exercises , gym with weight training too.I have a flight coming up n just thinking about it makes me nervous. It's not my first one. Although I travel about twice a year by plane but I've always had travel anxiety. Staying away from home n flying just makes me nervous. As much as I look forward to a holiday with family, this anxiety dampens the excitement. How can I enjoy?

Hey Travel anxiety is very common in people with anxiety disorders, especially when the mind links flying and being away from home with loss of control or uncertainty. The good thing is that despite the fear, you still travel, work out, practice yoga, and manage life well. That shows you already have coping strength. Most of the anxiety happens before the journey, not during it. Try not to wait for the anxiety to completely disappear before enjoying the trip. Let the feeling come and pass without constantly checking your body or thoughts. Stay engaged with family, music, movies, food, and the experience around you. Your brain slowly learns safety through repetition, not avoidance. CBT can help reduce the fear loop around travel and make holidays feel lighter again. Take therapy. You can connect with me on nine two six six seven two six zero six five.
Health Tips
Before the flight, don’t keep asking yourself “What if I get anxious?” Instead ask, “Even if anxiety comes, what will I do?” This small shift trains the brain to feel more capable instead of fearful. Carry familiar comfort items, keep your body relaxed, and stay mentally occupied during travel rather than monitoring sensations constantly

Your symptoms are suggestive of travel/flying-related anxiety associated with underlying anxiety disorder. It is good that you are already practicing yoga, breathing exercises and regular workouts, which help in anxiety control.
Next Steps
CBT techniques, relaxation exercises and gradual exposure can help reduce fear of flying. If anxiety becomes severe or causes panic symptoms, consult a psychiatrist/psychologist for evaluation and treatment
Health Tips
Avoid excess caffeine before travel Practice slow deep breathing Reach airport early and stay relaxed Use music/distractions during flight Remind yourself of previous safe flights Maintain good sleep and exercise routine before travel

You already handle anxiety in many healthy ways, which is a strength. Travel anxiety often peaks before the flight, not during it. Don’t wait to feel completely calm to enjoy the trip — let the anxiety come and pass without fighting it. Stay engaged with family, music, movies, food, and the experience around you. Repeated safe travel slowly teaches the brain that you are okay. CBT/therapy can also help reduce this fear loop over time.
