Hi, don't worry. I could understand your problem well. 1st thing..as on cardiac side everything is normal, you need to not worry about anything related to your heart. You have no physical illness related to your heart. So whenever a panic or anxiety episode occur, you need to learn to be still, let them come and go! As you know by your earrlier episodes, they would go in just few minutes! Just try to ignore them and try to be calm as long as possible. Meanwhile, medicines are going to work, sooner or later, however they might have to be adjusted for their doses. Other psychological and relaxation techniques would also help. Now the next thing...your habit of alcohol and tobacco...I feel, you are taking them as a self medication for your anxiety. Alcohol and tobacco might relieve anxiety on short term basis for initial periods. But day by day it's effect fades away and one needs to increase its quantity to get the earlier effect, finally leading to addiction. On long term basis , its very harmful, as it would deteriorate your anxiety or panic disorder and also would cost you some other physical illness including liver disorders. So you must need a detoxification program or treatment for alcohol and tobacco also. But don't worry, things can be fine when dealt in proper way. Recognising problem is important, solutions are abundant!
