Why Are Ants Attracted to Urine? Ants are drawn to sugar. If ants are regularly attracted to your child’s urine, it may suggest the presence of glucose (sugar) in urine, a condition called glucosuria. But in this case, the last urine test (R/E and culture) showed: No glucose No infection (culture was negative) 🔍 Possible Explanations: Possibility Explanation Intermittent glucosuria Sugar may appear in urine occasionally (e.g., after high sugar intake, stress, or illness) and may be missed on a single test. False positive observation Ants may be attracted to residues around the toilet or potty, not the urine itself. Storage contamination If sample wasn't fresh or collected properly, earlier test might not reflect real-time status. ✅ What to Do Next: Repeat urine test – request “Urine for sugar” + R/E and microscopy, preferably from a fresh morning sample. Do a fasting blood glucose test. If available, do an HbA1c test (for 3-month average sugar). Monitor: Excessive thirst or hunger Frequent urination Weight loss Fatigue or irritability Consult a pediatrician or pediatric endocrinologist if repeated tests show sugar in urine. 💬 Reassurance: One normal test does not rule out intermittent sugar issues. Most likely, it’s either normal or related to environmental factors — but a repeat test is the safest way to confirm.

As such black ants get attracted to urine, because of the ammonia content. Make her drink more water. Share her detailed history and Test results.
