Hi, I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's Hypothyroidism 2 years ago. My anti TPO was 320 at time of diagnosis, then >1300, 1-2 years ago, and latest 180 in Oct 2025. But my doc says it is good improvement on paper but doesn't help in thyroid performance. So I keep practicing the good thyroid hygiene with some hope. Doesn't the reduced levels of Anti TPO make much difference 🤔

Hi,
Anti TPO titre only suggests presence of Hashimoto Thyroiditis.
Treatment is management of Thyroid function by supplementing Thyroxine from outside and adjusting doses as per the blood reports ( Thyroid profile) done every three months.
You are right that Anti-TPO levels mainly indicate autoimmune activity and do not directly reflect thyroid hormone performance. To give you accurate guidance, I would need to review your TSH, FT4, FT3 trends, dosage history, symptoms, and lifestyle factors together.

Continue to follow your routine and carry on with Thyronorm.
Very very very rarely Hashimoto’s requires additional treatment (where we use steroids etc) which from the sounds of it, I don’t think you will need.
All the best.

Not as much , However, once Hashimoto’s has caused structural damage to thyroid tissue, lowering antibody levels usually does not reverse that damage. Thyroid performance is best reflected by TSH, Free T4, and symptoms, not antibody titers.
