Anterior bifid left 4th rib
My husband had covid a month ago.he is feeling a pain while yawing or streching from last 4 days so he did his chest x-ray.in the report the other things are normal but at the sixth point it is written that anterior bifid left 4 th rib .what does that mean.please suggest me.

It means that the 4th rib is split into two parts..instead of a single shift. It is a anomaly in development but needs no treatment or intervention currently. It is better left as it is. Pain could be because of costochondritis (inflammation of the rib cartilage) but even that is self limiting and it will resolve in a matter of weeks. No medication needed.

Its congenital Nothing to worry about. Pain in chest may be due to costochondritis which is also self limiting.

this a congenital condition, which means ribs is divided in to two part at its anterior end. kindly share the xray film for further guidance

That must be there before also,it's since birth.Not related with Covid or his recent pain.Pain can be due to muscle strain.
