You need to discuss your dangerously low haemoglobin with your Surgical and Anesthesia team, they might chose to defer it till the time your anemia can be worked up and managed if the surgery is not an emergent one. Plus you need to stop smoking completely, it increases chances of all complications including Anesthesia related and wound related.

You must contact your surgeon and anesthesiologist to discuss these two main concerns: A hemoglobin level of 7.3 g/dL is significantly low (anemic). Effect on Surgery/Anesthesia: Severe anemia reduces the oxygen supply to your organs and tissues. This can increase the risk of complications during and after surgery, especially concerning blood loss. They will determine if the surgery should be postponed and if you need a blood transfusion or iron therapy before the operation to raise your HB level to a safer range. Smoking significantly complicates anesthesia and surgery. The fact that you smoked today, with surgery scheduled for December 4th, is a major concern. Effect on Anesthesia and Recovery: Lungs: Smoking increases mucus production and can cause bronchospasm (narrowing of airways), making it harder for the anesthesiologist to ventilate your lungs during the procedure. It also increases the risk of post-operative lung complications like pneumonia. Wound Healing: Smoking constricts blood vessels, significantly reducing blood flow to the surgical site and impairing wound healing, increasing the risk of infection. You must stop smoking immediately.
