Alcoholism and anxiety. For it?

Sorry to hear about your situation. Addiction (alcohol/drugs) and psychological problems (anxiety/depression) are like chicken and egg situation. Alcohol can cause/worsen anxiety and vice versa. Moreover it becomes next to impossible to treat either of them, when both are present, as it seems to be here. The priority should be to come off alcohol completely but gradually with the professional's advice. It doesn't matter if it takes weeks or months. It doesn't matter if one fails in his/her attempts. The professional will be able to guide/support both the patient and his family during the process. Anxiety/depression can be tackled after alcohol problem is sorted completely. Regarding effects on sex life: unfortunately alcohol/anxiety/depression/medications all have adverse effect on one's sex life. Without professional help, relationship too will start to suffer and thus push the problem to point of no return. Best wishes.
