After pneumonia treatment, cough may take some time to completely resolve. If disturbing nights or affecting health the pls get a physical consultation
Cough and loose motions can be from different illnesses. The child may require reevaluation. Always better to rule out other conditions causing the prolonged symptoms.
At present, this does not necessarily sound serious. A mild cough after recovery from pneumonia is often due to a new viral infection, residual airway sensitivity, or allergy rather than recurrence of pneumonia, especially if there is no fever, breathing difficulty, or lethargy.
A reduced appetite for a few days during a viral illness is common. Two loose stools are unlikely to be related to the boiled egg and may simply be part of a mild viral infection. Ensure adequate fluids and continue a normal age-appropriate diet.
Please revisit your pediatrician if she develops fever, fast breathing, chest indrawing, persistent vomiting, worsening cough, poor oral intake, or if symptoms continue beyond 1–2 weeks. A clinical examination will determine whether any further investigations are needed.
Greetings
symptoms you describe are common post-treatment issues that share characteristics with three distinct possibilities: antibiotic-associated diarrhea caused by a disruption of healthy gut flora, a post-viral gastrointestinal shift following her recent illnesses, or a mild secondary viral infection. Her decreased appetite is a highly frequent residual effect seen after severe lung infections like pneumonia and during active digestive changes. To help her recover safely at home, you can focus on these three distinct treatment options under professional guidance:Maintain thorough hydration using Oral Rehydration Solutions (ORS) or diluted coconut water to replenish lost fluids.Offer bland, easily digestible foods in small, frequent intervals rather than heavy meals, temporarily pausing high-fat proteins if they trigger loose stools.Discuss a pediatric probiotic supplement with her doctor to actively help restore the balance of beneficial bacteria in her gut.
